General description

Begonia 'Benigo Pink' is a decorative cane begonia with dark green, almost angel's garlic-like leaves covered in light pink/purple spots that contrast beautifully. The underside of the leaves is dark red, creating a beautiful two-tone effect. It has an upright, original shape and is very attractive as a houseplant.

Origin

Cultivar resulting from tropical horticultural crosses, suitable for indoor cultivation, originating from humid tropical or subtropical regions.

Care

• Light : Bright indirect light; avoid intense direct sun which burns the leaves.
• Watering : Keep the substrate moist but not soggy; do not leave standing water to avoid rot.
• Humidity : High; a humidity level around 60-80% is desirable.
• Temperature : ideally between 18 and 24°C; do not go below around 15°C.
• Substrate : mixture rich in organic matter, well-draining, with humus components, perlite or elements to improve drainage.

Special advice

• Do not wet the foliage when watering to avoid spots or fungal diseases.
• Fertilize diluted during the growing season (spring/summer), approximately once a month.
• Repot when the plant becomes too dense or the roots fill the pot.
• All parts are mildly irritating; keep out of reach of children and pets.
