Taro

Colocasia esculenta, also known as elephant ear, is an impressive tropical plant with large heart-shaped or arrow-shaped leaves. Its broad, exotic foliage quickly creates a jungle effect, both indoors and on a balcony or patio in summer. It is a plant that loves warmth, humidity, and regular watering.

• Light: It enjoys bright, indirect light but can also tolerate some gentle sun, especially in the morning or late afternoon. Avoid intense direct sunlight, which can burn its large leaves.
• Water: Keep the soil moist, especially during the growing season. Colocasia loves a lot of water, but it's still important to prevent roots from sitting in stagnant water in a pot without drainage.
• Humidity: It adores humidity. It will be happier near other plants, in a humid room, or on clay pebbles with a bit of water.
• Temperature: It loves warmth and prefers to stay above 18 °C. It does not tolerate frost, so it must be brought indoors when nights become cool.
