General description

Echeveria 'Black Prince' is a highly decorative succulent with a compact rosette of thick, very dark green, almost black leaves. In strong light, its hues can turn to almost black purple, making it a striking piece in any light collection or arrangement.

Origin

A horticultural hybrid of Echeveria , cultivated to produce very dark foliage that contrasts with other lighter succulents.

Care

• Light : Bright light; maximum strong indirect light to achieve and maintain dark coloration.
• Watering : Water when the substrate is completely dry; avoid overwatering, especially in winter.
• Humidity : Low to moderate; prefers dry or normal conditions to avoid rot.
• Temperature : between ~10 and 30°C; protect from frost and cold temperatures.
• Substrate : very draining soil, special for succulents/cacti, with sand or coarse gravel or perlite to avoid stagnation.

Special advice

• Use a pot with good drainage and do not repot frequently.
• Fertilize lightly in spring-summer with a fertilizer suitable for succulents.
