General description

Ceropegia woodii , nicknamed "String of Hearts", is a trailing plant with a delicate shape. It is distinguished by its thin, spinning stems adorned with small, fleshy, heart-shaped leaves, green marbled with silver, often pinkish on the underside. Light and graceful, it is perfect for hanging.

Origin

Native to South Africa, where it grows as a creeping or trailing plant, sometimes as an epiphyte on trees.

Care

• Light : Bright indirect light, tolerates some mild morning sun. Too little light reduces foliage contrast.
• Watering : Water moderately, allowing the substrate to dry out several centimeters between waterings. Drought-resistant thanks to its tubers.
• Humidity : Tolerates average ambient humidity; does not need high humidity.
• Temperature : Ideal between 18 and 27°C; avoid temperatures below 10°C.
• Substrate : very well-draining mixture of succulent or cactus type, with perlite or coarse sand.

Special advice

• Sometimes blooms with small, mauve and silver, lantern-shaped tubular flowers.
  
• Watering too frequently causes rot; it is better to underwater than overwater.
• Non-toxic to animals and humans.
