General description

The Hoya DS-70 'Neon' is a trailing variety highly prized for its compact, thick, and slightly velvety foliage. Its soft green leaves take on lime-yellow hues (a "neon" effect) in bright light, and its new growth may be slightly pink. It produces umbels of small, fragrant, star-shaped flowers ranging in color from pink to red.

Origin

Native to Southeast Asia, where it grows naturally as an epiphytic plant in tropical rainforests.

Interview

• Light : bright indirect light; the leaves become more “neon” under strong light.

• Watering : allow most of the substrate to dry out between waterings; sensitive to overwatering.

• Humidity : moderate to high; prefers a mild and stable atmosphere.

• Temperature : between 18 and 27 °C; avoid the cold.

• Substrate : very well-draining mix, ideal for hoyas (bark, perlite, coco).

• Perfect for hanging thanks to its cascading shape.

• It flowers more when it is slightly cramped in its pot.

• Never remove the flower peduncles: they will bloom again.
